FC Porto forward Borja Sainz discussed the team’s 3-1 defeat to AVS in Vila das Aves during a flash interview with Sport TV. He stressed that the squad remains focused despite the setback.
“The team wanted to win, as always. We lacked a bit of accuracy up front. Our goal was to collect all three points. The team tried, just like throughout the season. We are champions, and we don’t want this result to stain the season. Every game we think about winning. It’s a shame.”
When asked about his exchange with Deniz Gül during the goal, Sainz said: “The important thing is that it was a goal. He is doing a very good job. I’m also happy for him. It was important to score. But he scored. It wasn’t offside, and that’s what matters.”
