Fiorentina 0-0 Sassuolo
David De Gea kept another clean sheet, but it wasn’t enough to guarantee Fiorentina’s survival. A goalless draw against Sassuolo (0-0) leaves them nine points above the relegation zone with just 12 points still up for grabs.

De Gea has now recorded eight clean sheets in Serie A this season, with four of them coming in the last seven matches—a stretch in which Fiorentina remain unbeaten. However, the stalemate at the Franchi wasn’t sufficient to mathematically secure safety with four games left.
Without Moise Kean or Piccoli in the squad, coach Vanoli deployed Albert Gudmundsson as the lone striker, a role where the Icelandic forward doesn’t feel entirely comfortable. He also set up an unusual back four, and an early defensive lapse forced De Gea into action with a quick foot save.
Fiorentina took time to find their rhythm but finished the first half stronger. Turati had to stretch to deny Gudmundsson’s effort from the heart of the box. Solomon also had a chance just past the half-hour mark, along with Jack Harrison and Mandragora.
Lacking presence in the opposition area, Vanoli introduced the attacking-minded Fabian with over 20 minutes remaining. Before that, Pinamonti hit the woodwork for the clearest chance of the match. Fiorentina pushed hard for a winner, but late attempts from Fagioli, Comuzzo, and Ndour came to nothing.
This insufficient draw leaves Fiorentina nine points clear of the relegation line held by Cremonese, with 12 points still to play for. Their path is well on track, but the remaining fixture list is far from easy: they face Roma, Genoa, Juventus, and Atalanta.
